SPACEBANDS SOLUTION

Real-time alerts to keep staff working at height safe

spacebands’ wearables automatically detect when staff are working at height and prompt them to ensure they are wearing safety equipment or following company safety policies.

These alerts keep staff safe while working at height and protect companies from legal action if something should happen to go wrong - providing a recorded paper trail that staff were reminded to follow procedures.

HSE Manager

spacebands were a game-changer for us.  We can now monitor HAVS and loud noise easily on workers moving between different areas on site. Now I feel confident we have the best tools to keep our team safe.

Mark C

HSE Director

We started off with spacebands on one site, and we've just rolled them out on another 3 sites. We don't just use them for NIHL, but also for HAVS, machine collisions and PPE reminders.
We find them really useful to get an overview on different hazards and the team actually use them, which makes my life easier!

Plant Manager

One of the potential hurdles for us was our trade union, who quite rightly, want to protect the privacy of our workers. spacebands work anonymously, you could assign a wearable to a specific worker, but we use it holisticallly to measure exposure levels in a more general sense.

Site Manager

We got spacebands thinking it would be the devices keeping people safe, but we weren't expecting the level of detail in the analytics platform and the suggestions it provides to improve safety. It's allowed us to see areas in need of improvement.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

spacebands are helping Health & Safety managers around the world reduce accidents, injuries and legal claims

At what height does the wearable alert the wearer to wear safety gear?

This can be customised in your admin dashboard but the default height at which alerts are sent is 6ft off the ground.

Does the wearable account for getting to the place where workers are working from height?

Yes, the wearable is able to compensate for trips in elevators or escalators to get to the place where a worker is working from height.

What happens if a worker ignores the safety prompt when working from height?

The wearable provides the employee with awareness and the employer with a paper trail, recording what time the prompt was sent and to which wearable. If you choose to allocate a wearable to a specific individual, then you will be able to tell which individual received which prompt, and at what time.

Can I assign a wearable to individual workers?

Yes, you can assign a wearable to an individual so you know which individual received each prompt and when. Alternatively, if you wanted worker data to remain anonymous, there is no need to assign wearables - just allow workers to use whichever wearable is free.

Can certain workers be made exempt from the working from height warnings?

Yes, you can mute alerts on specific wearables to stop certain job roles from being notified they are working from height.

Does the device send an SOS if a worker suffers a fall while working from height?

Yes, this is a separate spacebands feature known as SOS or person down alert. Using a gyroscope, when it detects a fall, it sends an alert to all nearby wearable devices for assistance.
